An Interpretation of Chinese Culture is a course offered to English majors and Bilingual (English-Chinese) Broadcasting students as complimentary culture study for their profession. The course aims at introducing in English a systematic knowledge of traditional Chinese culture, its main theories and ideologies, and developing students' abilities illustrating norms and practices of Chinese culture, esp. with programs produced in media. It is hoped that, with this course, students will have better vision of the China-West cultural differences and training in cross-cultural theories and practices, and be better prepared for ways of undertaking cross-cultural studies.
